LOEWE

180 Years Young

Inviting LOEWE fans to celebrate the brand’s 180th Anniversary

Founded as a small workshop in Madrid in 1846, LOEWE stands as the world's second-oldest luxury fashion house. To celebrate their landmark 180th anniversary, we crafted an immersive digital experience that acts as an open invitation for global fans to explore the maison’s heritage.

LOEWE partnered with artist David Shrigley, who provided the iconic red lion illustration. It represents the brand, which literally translates to ‘lion’ in German.

We’ve used Shrigley’s lion throughout the experience as a guide for guests visiting the site. Including a short animation that transitions visitors from the LOEWE homepage to the 180 Anniversary page.

We also built a playful, animated lion which was embedded in the LOEWE home page, attracting visitors to the 180 Anniversary experience.

The animations for both the home page and the transition were created by hand-painting 12 individual frames, each scanned and pieced together to craft a traditional, cell-animated walk cycle.

Our 180th Anniversary landing page reflects the hand-painted watercolour style of commissioned artist, Joanna Blemont, and encourages users to celebrate the anniversary both in-store and online.

To demonstrate just how far back LOEWE’s heritage goes, we created a playful, tactile card game that puts the past 180 years into perspective.

Working again with Belmont, we developed over 30 unique illustrations catering for global and local markets, some predate LOEWE, some don’t...

The game is ultra simple, asking users to swipe cards left or right to guess whether something came before or after LOEWE.
