Run It Back
Stink Studios partnered with Jordan to help deepen their Unite brand story at a local level. Together with three top—flight college basketball teams, we created Run It Back, a series of hype films for each school told—and partly shot—from their perspective.
The Run It Back campaign is anchored by a :90 anthem film, directed in-house and voiced over by the students themselves. It was composed of different sources: 16mm film, a C300 and GoPro footage captured by the athletes. The film showcases how three top-flight high school basketball programs—Crossroads, Loyola and Mayfair—work tirelessly to truly be united as a team.
The film was screened at Jumpman L.A., Jordan’s flagship location in DTLA to commence the upcoming season. In addition to the anthem film, each school was provided with their very own :15 sizzle reel and a series of portraits to be shared across various social channels.
Our collaboration with Jordan provided us with an opportunity to work directly with high school student-athletes and empower them to tell their own stories. Before equipping them with GoPros, we introduced the fundamentals of filmmaking through hand-made zines that drew parallels between the game of basketball and basic camera technique.
In addition to social, we used our campaign photography to design a custom poster series for each school that were put on display at the DTLA screening. This allowed us to both celebrate the students’ contributions to the film and deepen Jordan’s UNITE brand story.
