Bringing design magic to the office

We launched Canva’s first brand campaign into the German market and, with the help of legendary social media magicians Siegfried and Joy, sprinkled a little sorcery into the workplace.

In this suite of spots, Siegfried and Joy attempt to bring a little magic to the office with their usual shtick of unimpressive tricks.

But it’s only when a colleague introduces them to Canva that the magic really starts to happen, and the magicians find they can perform tricks that actually impress, using Canva’s suite of design tools.

Rather than traditional cutdowns, the campaign featured product-specific short films for each Canva tool.

The campaign aired across Germany on TV, VOD and OLV and social, with the magicians themselves pushing out teasers across social platforms in the run up to the live date.

Playing off nods to Stromberg (the German version of The Office) made Canva, a relatively new product for the German market, feel recognisable and accessible, and drawing on the magician’s own tropes and tricks, such as their signature gold curtain, made the campaign instantly shareable.
